DIGITAL XRAYS

Our office is dedicated to providing you with the safest and most efficient treatment options available. We utilize advanced digital x-ray technology, which decreases your exposure to radiation by up to 90% compared to traditional x-rays. In addition to the traditional 2-dimensional digital x-rays, we are also able to take highly accurate, low radiation 3-dimensional digital x-rays using our state-of-the-art cone beam CT (computed tomography). Unlike 2-D x-rays, 3-D x-rays allow us to see the teeth as well as surrounding gum and bone structures from every angle – especially important when we are treating roots canals and placing dental implants.

Once the x-rays are taken, they are quickly displayed in your personal electronic chart. Digital x-rays also provide the added benefits of a clearer image that is able to be magnified up to the size of computer screen so that we can form a more accurate diagnosis as well as display the x-rays for you to see as well.

TV & INTRAORAL CAMERAS IN EACH EXAM ROOM

Seeing truly is believing. We want you to see what we see when we look inside of your mouth. All of our exam rooms are equipped with TVs and intraoral cameras so that we can display our digital x-rays and full-color photos on the TV right in front of you. Our intraoral camera is a small wand that is about the size of the dental mirror we use and can take pictures in the mouth in a few short seconds. We invested in this technology because it provides you with a better understanding of the condition of your teeth as well as allows you to make a more informed decision in your care.

DIAGNODENT

Our treatment philosophy centers around prevention. That is why we regularly use the Diagnodent, a radiation-free laser pen that can painlessly detect changes in tooth structure, such as the presence of cavity-causing bacteria, even in its earliest stages. By detecting these changes early, we are able to address them with conservative treatment options before they turn into a more invasive and expensive issue.

AIR ABRASION

We are now able to make the noise and vibration of the dental drill a thing of the past. Air abrasion is a pencil-sized device that can be thought of as being like a mini-sandblaster for your teeth. It utilizes a stream of air and aluminum oxide particles under pressure to gently remove minor cavities with precision – and without a drill or the need to be numb!

ISOLITE

We utilize this hands-free, dental isolation technology that allows us to provide quality care while keeping you comfortable. A soft mouthpiece is used for you to comfortably bite on so that you do not have to strain your mouth to keep it open while we work. The mouthpiece is connected to a suction as well as has a component to protect your cheeks, throat, and tongue.
